“Case Study: SpiroFlo for Industrial Biofilm Removal”
A large, multinational corporation completed an independent test regarding the SpiroFlo device’s ability to remove biofilm. With water alone (as in no chemical treatment), the SpiroFlo device took the recorded biofilm from “too many to count” to less than 100 parts per million. (statistically zero). Study available upon request

 

“IFEE Quick Review Paper”
SpiroFlo received an Innovative Funding for Energy Efficiency (IFEE) grant from the Colorado Governor's Energy Office (GEO). In testing the SpiroFlo device in homes around the Denver Metro area, the data proved that the addition of SpiroFlo delivers hot water an average of 35% faster with up to a 5% volume savings on every hot water outlet in the home. “SpiroFlo—Mending Fresh Water Intrusion in Coastal Marshes and Oyster Beds”
This paper covers how SpiroFlo can reintroduce salt water into oyster bed habitats (after oil spills and other forms of contamination) with minimal disruption, allowing them to re-attain the necessary salinity to thrive. SpiroFlo is environmentally neutral with no chemicals involved. When combined with an eductor (jet) pump, a subsurface version of the SpiroFlo device aids in gently aerating the water with minimal shock to the marine ecosystem. PDF

 

“SpiroFlo for Marsh and Wetlands Cleanup”
This paper covers how, when placed on the end of a pipeline attached to an air source (pressure or vacuum), the SpiroFlo device can be used by an operator to specifically target and remove oil floating on top of the ocean. This is done with no additional power source and no moving parts. PDF

 

“SpiroFlo for Concrete Restoration”
This brief paper covers how the SpiroFlo device is used in conjunction with chemical treatments to restore concrete. With a large, 120° angle on the 0.5" spray nozzle, SpiroFlo can deliver ~10 gallons/minute at less than 20 psi (33-285% more than other 0.5" nozzles). These high-impact fast-coverage projects are of particular interest to the military -- where heavy traffic moves through high-risk areas. PDF

Horizontal Garden Hose Demo
This is a “backyard” demonstration of the SpiroFlo device flowing horizontally. Though flowing at a low rate (3-5 gpm) through a garden hose (to atmosphere), the patented SpiroFlo device is able to shape the water into an organized flow that is useful for faster hot water delivery and biofilm removal. Though the visual of the flow set up by the SpiroFlo device soon tapers off (the rope of air in the middle stretching into individual air bubbles), the benefits of this organized flow can last up to several miles.

 

Vertical Demo
This is a vertical demonstration model of the water saving SpiroFlo device. Though only flowing at 20 gallons per minute, the patented SpiroFlo device is able to shape the water into an organized flow that is useful for faster hot water delivery and biofilm removal. Note that the rope in the middle of the organized spiral flow is air.

 

Pipe in a Pipe Demo
This demo video demonstrates the stable flow of the SpiroFlo device. Though the middle of the flow creates a slight vacuum, air (and in the latter part of the video, water) is slung to the outside of the pipe. This is best shown with the force to both the coffee stirrer and the demonstrator's index finger. Note how when a larger pipe is placed around the smaller pipe, the stable flow created by the SpiroFlo device translates to the larger pipe and the water spirals around the boundary layer.

 

SpiroFlo for Inland Oil Cleanup and Aeration
This demo video shows the benefit of adding the SpiroFlo to any aeration device. Aeration is a major part of the long-term solution to oil spills and the use of SpiroFlo, with its preferred jet-pump partner, provides a substantially greater aeration benefit.

 

SpiroFlo for Oil-Water Separation and Clean-Up
This is a demo video of a SpiroFlo device on the end of a vacuum. As the SpiroFlo skims the surface of the oil-water mix, the oil is pulled through the proprietary chamber and shaped into a swirling flow that causes the water and oil to separate (with the oil traveling on the outside). The oil then drops out and is collected in the vials underneath. This process will work in large volumes and these units are commercially available for immediate deployment.
